West Ham tracking key Sheffield United defender

Sheffield United left-back Harrison Burrows is being tracked by West Ham, according to The Sun.

Sheffield United have been in disarray in the early stages of the season, with an underwhelming summer transfer window to date sparking concerns among the SUFC faithful.

The Blades have seen key players such as Vini Souza and Anel Ahmedhodzic head for pastures new, and there hasn’t been much in the way of exciting signings thus far. The hierarchy have just days to change that, with the window closing at 7pm next Monday.

More movement both in and out of Bramall Lane awaits, and it is now said that another key player drawing interest is left-sided star Harrison Burrows.

A report from The Sun has said that Premier League side West Ham have been ‘keenly tracking’ Burrows’ progress at Sheffield United, amongst others.

SUFC paid £6m to sign the 23-year-old from Peterborough United last summer and he put pen to paper on a contract until 2028 at Bramall Lane. It would likely take a healthy fee to prise him away from the Championship club, especially at this late stage in the transfer window.

Though keen, it remains to be seen if the Hammers have any intention of firming up their admiration.
