Portland, 27 August - Slovenian basketball executive Vanja Černivec has been named general manager of Portland Fire, a new franchise of the US Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Černivec, who has served as vice president of the Golden State Valkyries for the past year, will take over at Portland Fire on 15 September.
