On Tuesday, La Repubblica reported Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas has an agreement over personal terms with AS Roma.
The Italian side put forward an initial loan offer with an option to buy and further developments were expected. Gianluca di Marzio reports that despite Liverpool’s initial rejection of Roma’s offer, the Giallorossi aren’t going away.
They are intent on only signing the left-back on loan and have no intention of giving up on the chase. Their strategy is now clear and they are ‘prepared to wait until end’ of the transfer window. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are growing confident that they will sign the player if they play the waiting game.
The Italian manager sees the 29-year-old as a key signing for his system and is also attracted by his experience at a high level. It’s stated the ‘final hours’ of the window will be key.
Tsimikas played only 18 Premier League games last season and is yet to feature for Arne Slot this season. Leaving Liverpool now could be a good option for him.
