Crystal Palace are starting to become active in the transfer market after selling Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.
The Eagles have only spent £2m so far this summer – all of which went on Borna Sosa as Walter Benitez arrived on a free transfer.
However, Crystal Palace agreed a deal for Yeremy Pino on Tuesday, which TBR Football understand could be worth as much as £48m to Villarreal if all bonuses are met.
A story from the Daily Mail now adds that Crystal Palace have started to target another La Liga player in Christantus Uche – who Wolves already have a £17m agreement to sign.
Crystal Palace attempting Christantus Uche hijack
Simon Jones now states that Crystal Palace have made a late approach to sign the Nigeria international.
Wolves and Getafe have already agreed a £17m deal for Uche, but the 22-year-old himself is yet to sign any paperwork, which leaves the door open for Crystal Palace to swoop in.
The 6ft 3in powerhouse boasts an interesting profile, capable of playing as a striker, attacking midfielder, central midfielder or even on the left flank.
This story is actually insane… Just two years ago, Christantus Uche was playing AMATEUR football in Nigeria aged 19 🤯🇳🇬

Uche scored four goals and provided six assists across 33 appearances in La Liga last season.
Some news outlets in Spain have captured footage of the Getafe No.10 being driven away from training on Wednesday morning, which could suggest he is already on his way to England for a medical.
Matt Hobbs could haunt Wolves
Matt Hobbs left his role as Sporting Director at Wolves back in June by mutual consent.
However, it has not taken the Englishman long to find a new club.

The Athletic believe Hobbs has already started work with Crystal Palace – who lost Dougie Freedman to Saudi Arabia in March – and he will be involved in any late deals.
That would suggest Hobbs is behind the attempted hijack of Uche to Wolves, which is unlikely to go down well with his old employers at Molineux.
