Cisco goes deep with NFL deals

Cisco deepened ties with US National Football League (NFL) teams, adding fresh names to a list employing its enterprise networking and cybersecurity products.

The company stated it is providing bespoke services to its NFL customers, though highlighted commonalities involving its secure networking, Wi-Fi 7 and Hybrid Mesh firewall products.

Rob McQueen, VP of global sponsorships, said the sports teams are accessing “AI-ready infrastructure”, providing “digital resilience” which readies the league and individual clubs for the future.

Cisco highlighted its role in helping the NFL deploy cybersecurity for leading events and matches, along with data analysis and technology for the league’s replay control room.

The vendor described the NFL as the “most popular sports league” in the US, comprised of 32 franchises.

NFL deputy CIO Aaron Amendolia said Cisco had been an official partner for the past five seasons and welcomed the expansion of its team relationships.

There are six additional teams on Cisco’s books for the forthcoming season: Arizona Cardinals; Buffalo Bills; Carolina Panthers; Chicago Bears; Las Vegas Raiders; and Miami Dolphins.

Cisco already had deals with the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers.
