Man Utd could rival Chelsea for Fermin Lopez as transfer decision made

Chelsea Football Newsletter

Standard Sport understands that the Blues have made the Barcelona midfielder a target ahead of Monday's summer transfer window deadline. Reports in Spain claim that Barcelona are considering a first bid for Fermin worth €50million (£43.2m).

Cadena COPE report that Barcelona sporting director Deco is ready to sanction a sale, but for no less than €70m (£60.4m).

Interest in both Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons remain but talks with the pair have been put on pause.

It is a deal for the 22-year-old Fermin who the club are exploring in the final days of the window as they also attempt to ship out their unwanted players to make room.

United and Garnacho are desperate to part ways, and Chelsea have long appeared to be the most likely destination for the Argentine.

Ruben Amorim has reportedly shown an interest in Fermin. United are said to have explored a deal for the player earlier in the window and reports in Spain claim interest remains.

United are also currently attempting to offload a number of unwanted players.

Both Antony and Rasmus Hojlund are in talks to leave, either on loan-to-buy agreements or straight permanent exits.
