According to claims in the Turkish media Fenerbahçe are again showing interest in Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Belgium international was linked with a move to the Yellow Canaries earlier this month as Jose Mourinho looks to add to this squad.
[Hurriyet](https://www.hurriyet.com.tr/sporarena/fenerbahce-sampiyonlar-ligine-kalirsa-plani-belli-oldu-transferde-iki-bomba-isim-birden-42927150) report on Fenerbahçe’s pursuit for the Aston Villa player as Mourinho pushes the club’s board to bring in a central midfielder. The Super Lig side look set to lose out on Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma to Galatasaray and subsequently have switched their attention back to the Belgian.
It’s claimed Tielemans is Mourinho’s No.1 midfield target and that Fener will make a move for him if they qualify for the Champions League group stages. The Istanbul club face Benfica tonight knowing a victory will secure them a place in the next stage of the competition.
However, it’s very unlikely Aston Villa would let one of their key midfielders leave at this stage of the transfer window, so Mourinho is likely to face another dead end.
Tielemans is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2027.
