£30m Leeds United target in transfer standoff – Ready to spend season in stands

Leeds United are aiming to add more quality to their squad before the end of the summer transfer window. The club are keen to bring in attacking reinforcements as per the manager’s wishes, and they are assessing several deals ahead of the end of the window.

The Whites have looked bereft of ideas and creativity in the final third, and their performance against a second-string Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night was particularly concerning. It outlined the importance of the squad needing more additions to their attack in the next few days.

Daniel Farke wants to bring in two attackers before the end of the transfer window. He would prefer to sign a striker and a versatile attacking midfielder, who can also play on the wings, to provide him with more tactical flexibility in his team selections.

Leeds have been looking at several players, and a few deals are being assessed. However, they could have a clear run at one of their top targets, who seemed destined for a different club a few days back.

Leeds United target Bilal El Khannouss goes to war with Leicester City

Bilal El Khannouss has been keen to move on from Leicester all summer and was identified as a top target for Leeds early in the window.

However, he seemed destined to move to Crystal Palace, who had an agreement with the player, but the negotiations between the two clubs broke down.

Palace have walked away from the negotiations and are seriously considering other alternatives in the market, but El Khannouss and Leicester are now on a war path.

According to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the player and his representatives have been left frustrated by Leicester changing the goalposts for a deal.

The Eagles are now pushing to convince him to move to Saudi Arabia as they believe they are going much more than their £30m asking price.

However, El Khannouss is adamant about playing in the Premier League and has made it clear to the Championship club that he doesn’t see a future at the club for him.

He is insistent that his stance won’t change even after the window closes, and is ready to spend the season in the stands rather than play for Leicester again.

Leeds should get into the mix

Leeds have done considerable groundwork on a deal to sign the Leicester attacking midfielder in the ongoing summer transfer window.

They held talks with his representatives and were prepared to pay the money needed to take him to Elland Road.

Leeds also offered him a lucrative contract offer, and they have done the legwork on a deal to sign the Moroccan this summer.

With Palace looking at alternatives, Leeds could have a clear run at the player if they can convince him to move to Elland Road before the September 1st transfer deadline.
