Napoli and Manchester United are reportedly yet to reach an agreement over a deal for Rasmus Hojlund.
The Denmark international is not in the plans of Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim moving forward, and he has been left out of the team's opening two games of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
Hojlund expressed a desire to remain at Old Trafford towards the end of pre-season, but he has been made surplus to requirements following the arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
AC Milan, at one stage, were at the head of the queue for the 22-year-old, but Napoli are now considered to be the favourites, with the Italian champions pushing for the striker's arrival.
All parties are believed to be confident that the deal will go through before the end of the transfer window.
However, according to Sky Italia, there is still not an agreement in place between Napoli and Man United.

Napoli, Man United 'remain in talks' over Hojlund move
The report claims that Man United are insisting that the deal must become permanent during next summer's transfer window, with Napoli wanting to initially take the striker on loan.
The Serie A champions have allegedly been pushing for the loan move to include the option to buy the forward next summer, but Man United want a guarantee that the switch will become permanent in 2026.
Personal terms are reportedly not an issue, with Hojlund reluctantly accepting that he has no future at Old Trafford, and he is attracted by a move to the Italian giants.
Man United have reportedly set a purchase price of close to €45m (£38.8m), with Napoli willing to meet that figure, although there is not yet a full agreement in place between the two clubs.

How has Hojlund performed at Man United?
Hojlund has scored 26 goals and registered six assists in 95 appearances for Man United since making the move to Old Trafford from Atalanta BC in the summer of 2023.
The striker showed plenty of promise during the 2023-24 season, scoring 16 times in all competitions, but he only managed 10 goals last term, with four of those in the Premier League.
Hojlund is a player capable of becoming a regular goalscorer at a major club, though, and Man United could be made to regret letting him leave, especially if it does not work out for Sesko at Old Trafford.
Matheus Cunha has thus far been used through the middle for Man United this season, but Sesko may start against Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup on Wednesday, while there could also be minutes for Joshua Zirkzee, who has not featured at all since last season's Europa League final.
