Newcastle United’s striker search is ramping up ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline, and a familiar name has been linked amid ongoing interest in Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.
In a new piece for talkSPORT, Alex Crook reports that Eddie Howe has been offered the chance to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.
The Old Lady are looking to offload their striker after the arrival of Johnathan David from Lille, and see Newcastle as a potential landing spot given the club’s desperate need for strikers.
Juventus have been looking to take the former Fiorentina man off their wage bill, and are willing to take €30m (£26m) for his services, according to the report.
This is less than half the €70m + €10m add-ons fee that Juventus paid for the striker back in 2022, despite the Serbian scoring 44 goals in 105 games over his three years in Turin.
However, it’s believed Newcastle are not currently pursuing a deal for the 6ft 3″ striker, with moves for Wissa and Strand Larsen currently the club’s key focus after a series of bids for both over the past week.
It’s also unclear whether Vlahovic actually wants the move to St James’ Park, but Newcastle look equally as disinterested and eager to bring in reliable, Premier League proven options instead.
