Leeds could turn to West Brom attacker Tom Fellows to solve their creative woes.

Daniel Farke‘s side started the season with a typical tense Leeds 1-0 victory over Everton, but have since lost their next two matches.

Leeds’ 5-0 loss to Arsenal is not a major concern, as they are title contenders; however, the fact that they struggled to score against Championship crisis club Sheffield Wednesday is a worry.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin endured a miserable Leeds debut, missing several chances and then blazing his penalty over the crossbar in the shootout, crashing out of the Carabao Cup.

That could switch their attention to the transfer window ahead of the deadline.

MOT Leeds News presents the exclusive opinion of iconic football commentator Ian Darke.

Leeds backed to seal late Tom Fellows transfer

Leeds are still in the market for an attacker to perfect Farke’s squad before the 1 September deadline.

Darke believes that the Elland Road side should be looking at West Brom ace Fellows as a potential addition in the late stages of the window.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “They’ve just signed Okafor for around £18million, who had not started a lot of games in recent times, but he is a Swiss international.

“I don’t think that is to leave him hanging around on the bench, Manor Solomon is the player that they are missing, they lack real pace and creativity, someone who can unlock a defence.

*“That could be a problem, even though they did win and play pretty well against Everton, the goal came from a penalty, and they weren’t scoring goals in pre-season either.*“

Leeds’ attacking signings this summer:

Lukas Nmecha – Free

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Free

Noah Okafor – £18m

“They need to make, and that is basically what Farke has been saying, not even so much in coded language, they are going to need something a bit more. Dan James, as good as he was in the Championship, hasn’t really been a huge hit when he has played in the Premier League before,” Darke added.

“The clock is ticking, and a player I would be looking at if I were Leeds is a player that I saw at the weekend, is the kid at West Brom, Tom Fellows, good right winger who can go either way.

“Somebody like that might be a deal that they can get done, late on in the window. Baggies fans wouldn’t thank me for even suggesting it.

“I do think they need another player like that, otherwise you wonder, are they going to create enough chances to win football matches at this level?”

Tom Fellows would be great business for Leeds

Fellows is one of the most promising young wingers in English football at the moment, and he is capable of stepping up to the top level.

The England Under-21 ace notched 14 assists in the second tier last season and had previously been linked with a move to Everton.

Whether he could make an impact in the division or Leeds make a move for him remains to be seen.
