On Monday, Corriere dello Sport reported Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey has agreed terms with Fiorentina ahead of a move.
They claimed that the Italian club’s move for the Ghanaian hinged on their sale of youngster Nicolo Fortini. It now seems like Lamptey’s sale is going in the right direction and progress is being made.
Today’s Corriere dello Sport reports Fiorentina see the Brighton player as a back-up for Dodo and they are advancing in talks for the right-back.
The Seagulls want €10m to sell the defender. Despite earlier indications this could be too much for La Viola, this asking price now seems acceptable to Stefano Pioli’s side.
Since the 24-year-old’s current contract at Brighton runs out in 2026, he will arrive at Fiorentina on a permanent transfer.
The Italian club is now preparing to make a decisive push for the Ghana international, as they have one eye firmly set on the sales of Fortini and Amir Richardson.
Lamptey’s game time has dried up under Fabian Hurzeler and he has also picked up injuries that have hindered his progress. A move away from Brighton could be a good way to relaunch himself.
