France international rejects Man United move

Manchester United visit Grimsby Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

The Red Devils have picked up just a single point from their opening two matches of the new Premier League season, and head coach Ruben Amorim will be desperate to see his side improve against the Mariners.

Amorim could opt to make a number of changes to his side for the trip to Blundell Park, but in the meantime it has emerged that United have failed this summer with a move to sign a France international.

CaughtOffside claims that the Red Devils made contact with Paris Saint-Germain striker Kolo Randal Muani about a move to Old Trafford, but the player himself wasn’t keen on the idea.

Kolo Muani, 26, had a spell on loan at Italian side Juventus last term and the Frenchman is said to be keen on the idea of a return to Turin, however the Serie A giants haven’t yet reached an agreement with PSG.

It is claimed that United reached out to assess the plausibility of a move for Kolo Muani, but the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt star rejected the proposal as he is intent on a return to Juventus.

The forward is valued by PSG at around £51 million, but the Ligue 1 champions have so far failed to agree a deal to offload the player.

The report claims that United are assessing potential signings in attack, with Rasmus Hojlund potentially on his way to Italian side Napoli.

Kolo Muani was said to be on United’s list of possible targets, but the report claims that the France international has rejected the idea of a move to Old Trafford.

The striker is under contract until the end of the 2027/28 season, but it appears that he could continue to push for a return to Juventus.
