Man United have reportedly struck an agreement in principle with Real Betis for winger Antony.
Betis Move Back on the Cards for Man United winger
Antony’s second spell in Spain looks set to happen after Man United and Betis reached common ground on a deal. The Brazilian had enjoyed a positive loan spell in Seville last year. He scored nine goals and gave five assists while leading Betis to the Europa Conference League final.
Although, when it came to rejoining Old Trafford it was not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. Man Utd have already boosted their attack. So, that left little room for the former Ajax man. His absence from pre-season training and the US tour only fueled speculation about his exit. Now, Betis is working on a loan deal with an option to buy as per Mike McGrath.
Transfer window shifts to exits
The focus at Red Devils is now firmly on trimming the squad. Antony’s move is likely to be one of several exits before the deadline, with Alejandro Garnacho strongly linked with Chelsea. Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are also unlikely to feature under Amorim this season. The head coach looks to reshape his group.
Meanwhile, United are closing in on a deal for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens. He is worth around £17m, with personal terms already agreed.
