Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has refused to be drawn on speculation that Michael Olise has a buyout clause in his contract.
X account Bayern Space has claimed that the release fee is “within reach” of Premier League clubs, with Manchester City and Liverpool being Olise’s “preferred destinations” if he leaves the Allianz Arena. Responding to a question about the existence of the clause, Freund replied:
“As a matter of principle, we never talk about the contents of the contract. If I were to say something along those lines, then we would talk about it.”

“Our goal is for Michael to stay at FC Bayern for a long time. He is an extraordinary talent, an extraordinary player, and he works very hard to keep getting better – at his very high level.”
Olise has been in outstanding form
During his first season with Bayern, the France international scored 20 goals and provided 23 assists in 55 appearances. He scored a brace in the opening Bundesliga fixture last weekend too.
Before making the switch to Germany, Olise had been close to joining Chelsea on two separate occasions and there is a feeling that he may consider a return to England at some point.
Man City are currently targeting a different winger
At the moment, Pep Guardiola’s side are believed to be focused on signing Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, although an official approach for the Brazilian is contingent on several factors.
The forward has still not made up his mind on whether he wants to leave the Bernabeu, despite the fact that there is less than a week to go before the transfer window closes.
It is also thought that a bid for Rodrygo will only be tabled if Savinho does end up joining Tottenham. So far, Spurs have not made a satisfactory offer for the 21-year-old.
