'Deal done very soon...' - Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd now set to secure major windfall by…

Manchester United may finally get a huge deal over the line this summer, which could free up vital funds to strengthen elsewhere - with the Red Devils' beleaguered striker Rasmus Hojlund thought to be on his way to Napoli, according to GIVEMESPORT transfer correspondent Fabrizio Romano.

Hojlund joined United two years ago for £72million, and although he endured a promising first campaign with 10 goals in the Premier League, last season saw him massively struggle as United recorded their worst-ever finish in the competition by ending up in 15th. However, he may shortly be rescued from his Old Trafford nightmare with a move back to Italy seeing Napoli grow 'confident' that they can close out a transfer.

Romano: Napoli 'Confident' of Securing Rasmus Hojlund Deal

The report by Romano on X (formerly Twitter) states that Napoli are 'confident' of getting a deal for Hojlund done 'very soon', with talks now in the final stages between themselves and the Red Devils.

Any move will be a loan, with a mandatory fee of around €45million (£38.8million) for the Dane on a contract of five years, which will become active at the end of the current season - seeing Hojlund sign a deal at the Serie A champions until the summer of 2031.

Former United striker Romelu Lukaku has had a long-term injury, leaving the Gli Azzurri with the need to strengthen their ranks with a new talisman - and as a result, Hojlund will step into their side to become one of their new strikers to retain the Scudetto under Antonio Conte.

Hojlund will join former teammate Scott McTominay, as well as past rival Kevin de Bruyne, who joined from Manchester City earlier this summer - and with an opening day win over Sassuolo, they've made a strong start to becoming Serie A champions once again.

It's a division that Hojlund has already enjoyed success in before. The young striker moved from Sturm Graz to Atalanta in the summer of 2022, scoring nine goals in his only Serie A campaign despite being consigned to the bench upon joining La Dea.

If he can replicate that under Conte over the coming year, then Hojlund will be finely placed to rack up goals galore throughout his Napoli career, putting an end to the nightmare he has endured in the past year of his career under Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, with just four strikes in the Premier League last season seeing the latter replace him with RB Leipzig starlet Benjamin Sesko for the upcoming campaign.
