Sources: Chelsea ace now 'ready to move' as he makes decision on transfer exit

Chelsea youngster Tyrique George has decided to leave Stamford Bridge and wants to join Roma, TBR Football understand.

George scored or assisted 18 goals last season in a breakthrough campaign for Chelsea, earning Conference League and Club World Cup medal winners’ medals with appearances across the front line.

But now, TBR Football understand the winger has opted to search for first team football away from Chelsea, unconvinced that he will get regular minutes under Enzo Maresca this season.

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Tyrique George is very happy with what he has heard from Roma and is ready to move to the Eternal City.

Chelsea were ready to use 19-year-old George this season but we understand the teenager was not convinced about his passage to regular first team football.

A host of clubs have shown interest in the England youth star but Roma have pushed strong and George has been convinced that Serie A is his right move.

George would follow the likes of Tammy Abraham in moving to Roma from Chelsea, while he is now at AC Milan alongside two other former Chelsea youngsters in Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Chelsea will insist on big sell-on clause as talks with Roma continue over Tyrique George

After deciding to leave, George has been convinced of the Roma project, and Chelsea are close to agreeing a permanent move.

Bailey says: “The deal will include a substantial sell-on clause. I am told talks have gone very well with George and Roma, they think he is one of the best young wing prospects in Europe and they are very happy to be getting him.

“Chelsea will keep some sort of hold on him with their sell-on but with the player wanting to leave they were not going to keep him without his desire to stay.”

George will follow the likes of Noni Madueke, Leskey Ugochukwu, Armando Broja, Carney Chukwuemeka and Bashir Humphreys in departing Stamford Bridge this summer on a permanent basis. Total sales have earned Chelsea over £200m in fees so far in the transfer window.
