Leeds Predicted Lineup:
Leeds Team News:
Ampadu is set to be sidelined with an MCL injury until post-international break.
Fellow starting midfielder Tanaka also suffered an MCL injury of some kind against Arsenal but managed to continue playing. Daniel Farke revealed “After a tackle in the first half, he had problems with his MCL. He kept going and I hope it’s not too bad… There are a few concerns that it would be an injury but it’s normally positive that he could play further on. But we will have to assess him and we will see how long it takes to get him fit and back to full fitness.”
While it is as positive a diagnosis on an MCL injury could be, and he is in with a shot of playing in GW3, it’s more likely Tanaka is not fit enough for this weekend’s game and Longstaff comes into midfield to replace him.
Gruev came in to midfield for the injured Ampadu last week and will retain his place.
Despite scoring the winning goal in GW1, Nmecha did not take Piroe’s place in the starting lineup. One to watch but for now Piroe is the starting striker for Leeds.

Newcastle Predicted Lineup:
Newcastle Team News:
Schar, Tonali and Joelinton all suffered injuries that forced them off against Liverpool in GW2. All 3 will almost certainly miss this clash against Leeds.
Schar suffered what looks to be a concussion, and Eddie Howe essentially confirmed as much. Players typically miss between 7-10 days of football activities and on average at least 1 match before rejoining the team for training after entering the concussion protocol.
Tonali suffered what looks to be a shoulder injury and you could see he could not move or lift his arm without extreme pain against Liverpool once he suffered the injury. Howe speaking after the game stated “Sandro again, didn’t look good, he couldn’t really move his arm… It looks like a shoulder injury but I’m not 100% sure what the actual problem is”. We will await further updates but we can safely rule Tonali out of this GW3 match-up.
Joelinton looks set to be out for the longest period of time of the 3 Newcastle players who came off injured against Liverpool. He suffered a groin injury and came off immediately. Howe said “Joey, it doesn’t look great to be honest. Particularly how quickly he signalled to come off.” It is likely the Brazilian is out at least a month if not longer.
Gordon serves the first match of his 3 match ban for the red card he received for his tackle on Van Dijk that is deemed at violent conduct. Remember, a straight red is only a 3 match ban if it is deemed violent/serious foul play.
