Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton revealed that he connected with most of his Team USA teammates during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Last summer, Haliburton was part of the American men’s basketball team that won the gold medal in the tournament. Although he didn’t get a lot of playing time, he was still able to have a genuine connection with his teammates.
One of the players he got to know was Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. The Cameroonian big man was the team’s starting center and was heavily involved in the system. But off the court, the two star players were able to bond.
In the latest episode of the show “IMPAULSIVE,” Haliburton appeared as a guest and revealed his friendship with Embiid.

Haliburton Reveals that Embiid Usually Checks Up On Him
“That Olympic team has made me cool with like everybody, you know, that’s been like the cool part about it. Like, not many people are cool with Joel Embiid. I happen to be pretty cool with him. He like FaceTimed me the other day, and I’m like, ‘You don’t call anybody’,” Haliburton said.
“So like he’s genuinely checking on me. And so I think that’s just the cool part of like the lives we get to live. You get to grow like close to all the people that you grew up watching. Like that’s insane, the best (expletive) ever.”
Haliburton added that he gets to work out with him in LA. The Pacers star gets to stay in the gym when Embiid is working out, the two-time All-Star revealed. He said that he’s in the 2023 MVP’s “good graces” since he kicks everyone out of the gym.
