Championship trio told of £100,000-a-week offer made to ex-Burnley midfielder as Pompey rivals…

Championship transfer latest as clock ticks down towards deadline day on Monday 97pm)

There’s six than days to go until the summer transfer window slams shut for another year.

And while Pompey continue to look for ways to bolster their ranks alongside routes out for Matt Ritchie, Abdoulaye Kamara and Tom McIntyre, there’s plenty of other Championship clubs intent on making the most of the window’s remaining days.

Here’s the latest transfer developments as the clock ticks down on deadline day.

Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester informed of £100,000-a-week interest in free agent Josh Brownhill

A trio of Championship clubs face the real prospect of losing out on free-agent midfielder Josh Brownhill.

Unbelievably, the former Burnley captain remains without a club after bagging 18 goals last season as he helped steer the Clarets back to the Premier League with automatic promotion.

Ipswich, Southampton and Leciester - the three clubs who dropped down from the top flight at the end of last season - have all been linked with the 29-year-old who spent six years at Turf Moor before deciding to leave for nothing at the end of last term.

Yet their interest could be gazumped in spectacular fashion, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab reportedly offering Brownhill big money to leave England.

Indeed, according to Sky Sports’ James Savundra, they’re prepared to offer the former Bristol City midfielder a contract in excess of £100,000 a week to make the move.

If that doesn’t appeal to Brownhill, then he could also have offers from the Premier League. Savundra also reports that the player has held talks with two unnamed top-flight sides - which makes a return to the Championship look increasingly unlikely.

Millwall make £4.3m move for Sweden striker

Millwall have lodged a £4.3m bid with Swedish top-flight side Hammarby for striker Jusef Erabi.

However, the Lions have no guarantees that their offer will land the Sweden under-21 international, with Genk also believed to have offered the same amount for the frontman.

That leaves Erabi with a decision to make, with Hammarby believed to be willing to accept the offers tabled.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, that decision is expected soon - especially with so much potentially riding on the transfer.

Indeed, current Millwall striker, Mihailo Ivanovic - who scored 12 league goals last season as the Den outfit finished eighth in the table - is reportedly wanted by Wolves, who could potentially lose Jorgen Strand Larsen to Newcastle before the transfer window closes.

The Toon are looking for a replacement for Callum Wilson, who was allowed to leave St James’ Park at the end of last season. Eddie Howe’s side could also still lose Alexander Isak, who remains a target of Liverpool.

Milwall are curently eighth in the Championship table after winning two of their first three games of the season.

Erabi has scored four goals in 18 appearances for Hammarby this season and 29 in total for the club.
