The Detroit Lions were met with a lot of hype heading into the 2024 NFL season.
They found their identity during the 2023 campaign, and while their defense needed to take some steps for them to best compete in the years to follow, their high-octane offense turned heads around the league.
Dan Campbell’s unorthodox yet effective approach to coaching yielded great results in 2023, and many people expected greater things from the Lions in 2024.
They certainly lived up to the hype in the regular season, only losing two games along the way, and seemed to be a juggernaut heading into the playoffs.
Unfortunately for the Lions, they ran into the buzzsaw that was the Washington Commanders and ended up losing in the divisional round.
When looking ahead to the 2025 season, the consensus is that the Lions are going to be good this year, but there hasn’t been as much hype and excitement as there was last year.
Not everyone has gotten off the bandwagon, so to speak, as Rob Gronkowski recently appeared on the “Up & Adams” show with Kay Adams, talking about his confidence in the Lions to win it all this year.
“If I have to pick who’s going to win the Super Bowl, like, the Detroit Lions, that’s who I’m picking them to win the Super Bowl—the Detroit Lions. They’re going to face the Buffalo Bills, and it’s going to be a first if either of those teams wins—it’s the first Super Bowl win for either of the organizations, but I think the Detroit Lions pull it off,” Gronkowski said.
Wow: The legendary Rob Gronkowski picked the Lions to win the Super Bowl this season:

The Lions will be a PROBLEM this season.

In Gronkowski’s mind, the Lions have the most complete team in the league, which is going to lead to them hoisting the Lombardi Trophy when all is said and done.
The Lions dealt with a lot of health issues on the defensive side of the ball last year, but still managed to make it to the divisional round of the playoffs.
If they stay healthy, perhaps Gronkowski’s prediction will come to fruition.
Only time will tell what this team will look like in 2025, and they’ll have a strong test against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, which they’re preparing for.
