According to the Turkish journalist, the Manchester City player has rejected Galatasaray’s latest contract offer. It’s claimed his camp have made it clear to the Istanbul giants the salary they want and will not budge on their demands.

Last week it seemed the 30-year-old was on the verge of signing for Cimbom following reports everything had been agreed apart from his personal terms. Akanji was expected to travel to Istanbul to complete the move.

Crystal Palace have also been linked with the defender due to uncertainty over the future of Marc Guéhi and this development will give them encouragement.

Akanji made 40 appearances in all competitions last season and is contracted to Manchester City until June 2027.
