Aaron Rodgers Gets Honest About His Time With Jets

New York Jets fans had mixed opinions when it was announced that the team made a big move to acquire Aaron Rodgers.

On one hand, Rodgers was a multiple-time MVP who performed extremely well for the Green Bay Packers for over a decade, but on the other hand, the season before leaving for the Jets left something to be desired.

He also has dealt with significant off-field controversy in recent seasons, which didn’t help his case in the court of public opinion.

Nevertheless, the Jets made their decision, but he was only their starter for one year, as his first season ended quickly, with an Achilles tear in Week 1.

Rodgers talked about his time with the Jets in a recent appearance on “Mad Dog Sports Radio,” where he wasn’t shy in his responses.

“I tore my Achilles and battled my a** back to come back to practice to inspire the guys and hope to come back. I put a lot into it and I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but I’m thankful for the couple special moments that were had,” Rodgers said.

"At 5 o'clock eastern on that Sunday, it's only going to be on to the next game. That's just the way it is."#Steelers QB @AaronRodgers12 downplays his Week 1 matchup with the Jets to @AdamSchein and reveals if he has any regrets about his time in NY.

Rodgers indicated that he was sorry things couldn’t have worked out better during his time in New York, considering how much anticipation and hype there was around him coming to the team.

The Jets are now moving forward with Justin Fields as QB1, and Rodgers is taking over the starting role for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It will be interesting to see how both players pan out in their new locations, especially Rodgers, who has been linked to Mike Tomlin and the Steelers for several years.

Having a solid starting quarterback is one of the best keys to success in this league, and without one, teams can be set back for potentially several seasons if they make the wrong decision.
