Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham is set for a medical at West Bromwich Albion ahead of Saturday's Championship clash with Stoke City.

Mepham has been in demand in the Championship and Scotland this summer after helping Sunderland win promotion to the Premier League while on loan last season, featuring as a sub in the play-off final.

The 27-year-old Wales centre-back has also been linked with Rangers and Sheffield United, but it is Albion who look like they have won the race as new boss Ryan Mason continues to reshape his squad heading towards deadline day.

The Baggies have already brought in centre-halves Nat Phillips, George Campbell and Krystian Bielik as well as forward Aune Heggebe and loan midfielder Toby Collyer.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

They have won two and drawn one of their first three league games, being held 1-1 by Portsmouth at home last weekend.

Transfers experFabrizio Romano reports: "Chris Mepham has agreed terms with West Brom, deal done as fee has been agreed with Bournemouth and here we go! Medical to be done shortly."

Mepham made his senior breakthrough at Brentford and joined Bournemouth for £12m in 2019.
