Burnley submit offer for player who struggled at Arsenal and Manchester City

Burnley are one of four clubs to have made an offer to sign Denis Suárez, reports Wednesday’s edition of [Marca](http://marca.com).

Denis Suárez left Celta Vigo’s youth system for Manchester City in 2011 but failed to make his way through at the Premier League club. He then moved to Barcelona and into their B team, where he did reasonably well before signing for Villarreal in a permanent transfer.

After impressing for them he returned, again on a permanent transfer, to Barcelona and whilst it can’t be said he was a flop at the Camp Nou, he struggled to secure prominence and was sent on loan to Arsenal in 2019.

He made a handful of appearances for Arsenal before being sent back.

Barcelona didn’t see a role for him and he was sold to boyhood club Celta Vigo, where he was eventually loaned to Espanyol in a deal which was set to become permanent if they avoided relegation. They did not, and Suárez then signed for Villarreal again in another permanent transfer.

Despite all of that sounding like three careers worth of moves, Suárez is 31-years-of-age and looking for his next club.

Burnley have made an offer, as have Alavés, Al Riyadh and Celta Vigo. If he signs for Celta it will be the third time he’s been at the club in his career.
