Club have "surpassed" Man Utd's bid for 23-year-old star with "latest offer"

Galatasaray’s final bid for Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens has surpassed Manchester United’s proposal, according to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

The Red Devils are aiming to land a new shot-stopper before the transfer window closes, and Lammens has been identified as the prime target over the last week.

Lammens has already given the green light for the transfer, but United are still negotiating terms.

It was recently highlighted that they are discussing the structure for a package worth €20 million (£17m).

Amidst this, Sabuncuoglu claims that an authorised representative from Galatasaray travelled to Belgium today and submitted a final offer for the Belgian goalkeeper.

Their ‘latest offer’ has ‘surpassed’ United’s proposal for the 23-year-old.

Man Utd need to finalise deal with Antwerp for Lammens

The Red Devils have already spent more than £200 million on new signings during the ongoing transfer window. In comparison, the club have had no incoming funds through permanent transfer deals.

Aside from sell-on clauses and loan exits, United have found no revenue thus far. There is still optimism that Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia will provide funds with late exits.

Apart from a goalkeeper, United could pursue a defensive midfielder before the deadline.

With this in mind, the hierarchy probably don’t want to pay over the odds for Lammens, who may not be an assured starter. The Belgian could instead compete with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.

In our view, the club should seek to finalise a deal for Lammens as soon as possible. Galatasaray’s latest offer probably means that Antwerp could hold out for a higher package to sanction his sale.

United need to speed up negotiations. Dragging a deal until deadline day could make it expensive, particularly if other top European clubs enter the pursuit of the former Club Brugge man.
