Many years have passed, but people still discuss and debate Kevin Durant’s stint with the Golden State Warriors.
Some say that he needed the team more than they needed him, and others feel that his rings shouldn’t count because he was surrounded by such greatness.
Draymond Green isn’t accepting any of that and feels that Durant and the Warriors needed each other.
On the latest episode of his show, Green defended Durant and said he and the Warriors helped one another earn the ultimate NBA prize.
“I am never one that’s going to be like, ‘Yo, K got championships because he came here.’ No, he helped us get championships. What I will say is [Kevin Durant] never gets a championship if he doesn’t come here because I don’t foresee that happening anywhere else, or else we would’ve saw it again happen somewhere else. I’m not one of those people on the bandwagon, like, ‘Kevin doesn’t deserve the rings.’ You don’t win 2 Finals MVP if you don’t deserve rings — that’s just kind of a dumb thing to say,” Green said.

Durant was a central part of the Warriors’ success as they won back-to-back titles.
And with each of those championships, Durant was granted the honor of being named Finals MVP.
At the time, Durant was hailed as a hero and potentially one of the most important figures in Warriors history.
But in the years since, some opinions of him have soured.
People claim he was chasing rings, and some feel his praise and his Finals MVPs are undeserved.
Green isn’t one of those people because he knows firsthand what Durant brought to the team.
Since their consecutive victories, the Warriors have won another title, while Durant has struggled with other teams and hasn’t returned to the Finals.
The narrative around him will continue, but Green isn’t buying it and will continually praise Durant and his work with Golden State.
