Tuesday was a tough day across the NFL as all 32 teams trimmed their rosters down to 53 players.
That means a lot of familiar names across the NFL didn’t make the cut. Looking across the league, 43 names stood out as former New England Patriots players who now find themselves without a team.
Here’s a rundown of which former Patriots were cut at roster deadline day, including the team they had been on:
1) QBBailey Zappe (Chiefs) - A fourth-round pick in 2022, Zappe was an on-again, off-again fan favorite who started eight games between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
2) OTTrent Brown (Texans) - A Patriots Super Bowl champ, Brown was the starting tackle for the 2018 team before leaving in free agency. He later returned to New England in 2021, spending three more years in Foxborough.
3) WR Phillip Dorsett (Raiders) - A first-round pick in 2015, Dorsett was traded to New England in 2017 in exchange for Jacoby Brissett. He caught 73 passes for 881 yards across three seasons in New England, winning a Super Bowl title in 2018.
4) WR K.J. Osborn (Commanders) - Came in with high expectations as a free agent in 2024, but didn’t quite live up to expectations.
5) DL Carl Davis (Commanders) - Appeared in 36 games across three seasons in New England.
6) OL Dan Skipper (Lions) - At 6-foot-10, he’s the tallest active player in the NFL. He spent 2018 and part of 2019 in New England.
7) OL Lecitus Smith (Packers) - He was a midseason signing in 2024, playing in eight games and starting one.
8) EDGE Ronnie Perkins (Falcons) - A Patriots third-round pick in 2021, he did not appear in a game in New England.
9) OL Tyrone Wheatley Jr. (Falcons) - Acquired via trade in 2023, appeared in two games.
10) DL Sam Roberts (Panthers) - A sixth-round pick in 2022, he appeared in 12 games with the Patriots.
11) OL Nick Leverett (Cardinals) - Appeared in five games for the Patriots in 2024, starting one.
12) TE Matt Sokol (Bills) - Played in six games between the 2022 and 2023 seasons in New England.
13) TE Pharaoh Brown (Dolphins) - Had a fun run in New England in 2023, playing in 17 games and starting 11. He caught 13 passes for 208 yards that year.
14) OL Liam Fornadel (Jets) - Spent 2024 training camp in New England before a successful stint in the UFL.
15 QB/WR Malik Cunningham (Ravens) - A former undrafted free agent, he was a preseason darling in 2023 before he was surprisingly cut.
16) TE Scotty Washington (Ravens) - Played one game for the Patriots in 2022.
17) DE Titus Leo (Browns) - Leo appeared in four games last season, recording four total tackles.
18) RB Pierre Strong Jr. (Browns) - The Patriots drafted Strong in the fourth round in 2022 and traded him to Cleveland a year later.
19) OT Conor McDermott (Texans) - The Patriots drafted McDermott in the sixth round in 2017 and cut him at the end of camp. He later returned to spend parts of the 2022 and 2023 seasons in New England.
20) QB Will Grier (Cowboys) - Spent the 2023 season in New England as a backup.
21) RB J.J. Taylor (Texans) - An undersized back who saw playing time early in his career. Taylor played in 12 games across three seasons in New England.
22) DB D’Angelo Ross (Texans) - Spent three seasons in New England, appearing in three games during that time.
23) FB Jakob Johnson (Texans) - Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Johnson was a versatile fullback in New England from 2019-2021, starting 20 games and appearing in 37.
24) TE Dalton Keene (Texans) - A third-round pick in 2020, Keene’s run in New England was derailed by injuries. He appeared in six games before being cut in 2022.
25) DB Jalen Mills (Texans) - A versatile defender, Mills spent three seasons in New England as a starter from 2021-2023.
26) CB Myles Bryant (Texans) - Bryant played four seasons in New England, going from an undrafted rookie to a key part of the defense. He played 55 games in New England, including 17 starts.
27) WR Laquon Treadwell (Colts) - A Vikings first-round pick in 2016, he had a brief practice squad stint in New England in 2022.
28) DL Mike Pennel (Chiefs) - A veteran defensive lineman who spent 2019 training camp in New England. He later won two Super Bowls in Kansas City.
29) WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey (Giants) - A preseason standout in 2022, he had a brief stint on the active roster.
30) OL Bill Murray (Bears) - Signed as a UDFA in 2020 and stuck around until 2023. In 2022, he switched from defensive line to offensive line.
31) WR Jalen Reagor (Chargers) - A first-round pick in 2020, Reagor was a bust with the Eagles, but found a role in New England. He played 11 games for the Patriots in 2023, contributing mostly as a kick returner.
32) WR Kristian Wilkerson (Bills) - Wilkerson started on New England’s practice squad in 2020 and stuck around for three seasons. He appeared in four games during that time, including a surprise Week 17 game in 2021 where he caught four passes for 42 yards and two touchdowns.
33) LB Joe Giles-Harris - Spent two seasons on the practice squad, appeared in three games.
34) RB Kevin Harris (Jaguars) - A sixth-round pick in 2022, Harris spent three seasons in New England, appearing in nine games.
35) OL Arlington Hambright (Titans) - Spent 2022 training camp in New England.
36) DB Joshuah Bledsoe (Titans) - A sixth-round pick in 2021, Bledsoe stuck around for a while, but didn’t play much. He was ultimately cut at the end of camp in 2024. He had a solid UFL stint earlier in 2025.
37) WR Kawaan Baker (Packers) - Spent 2024 training camp with the Patriots.
38) TE Johnny Lumpkin (Packers) - Signed as a UDFA after the 2023 draft. He was cut at the end of camp.
39) OL Michael Jordan (Buccaneers) - Started 11 games at guard in 2024 before surprisingly being released and landing back on the practice squad.
40) DL William Bradley-King (49ers) - Spent the 2023 season on the Patriots practice squad before being cut at the end of camp in 2024.
41) OL William Sherman (Broncos) - A Patriots sixth-round pick in 2021, he spent 2021 on the practice squad before being cut in 2022.
42) OL Atonio Mafi (Raiders) - A Patriots fifth-round pick in 2023, Mafi played in all 17 games as a rookie, starting five. He was cut in 2024 training camp.
43) DL Marcus Harris (Bills) - Was on the Patriots practice squad in 2024.
