43 former New England Patriots players among NFL roster cuts

Tuesday was a tough day across the NFL as all 32 teams trimmed their rosters down to 53 players.

That means a lot of familiar names across the NFL didn’t make the cut. Looking across the league, 43 names stood out as former New England Patriots players who now find themselves without a team.

Here’s a rundown of which former Patriots were cut at roster deadline day, including the team they had been on:

1) QBBailey Zappe (Chiefs) - A fourth-round pick in 2022, Zappe was an on-again, off-again fan favorite who started eight games between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

2) OTTrent Brown (Texans) - A Patriots Super Bowl champ, Brown was the starting tackle for the 2018 team before leaving in free agency. He later returned to New England in 2021, spending three more years in Foxborough.

3) WR Phillip Dorsett (Raiders) - A first-round pick in 2015, Dorsett was traded to New England in 2017 in exchange for Jacoby Brissett. He caught 73 passes for 881 yards across three seasons in New England, winning a Super Bowl title in 2018.

4) WR K.J. Osborn (Commanders) - Came in with high expectations as a free agent in 2024, but didn’t quite live up to expectations.

5) DL Carl Davis (Commanders) - Appeared in 36 games across three seasons in New England.

6) OL Dan Skipper (Lions) - At 6-foot-10, he’s the tallest active player in the NFL. He spent 2018 and part of 2019 in New England.

40) DL William Bradley-King (49ers) - Spent the 2023 season on the Patriots practice squad before being cut at the end of camp in 2024.

41) OL William Sherman (Broncos) - A Patriots sixth-round pick in 2021, he spent 2021 on the practice squad before being cut in 2022.

42) OL Atonio Mafi (Raiders) - A Patriots fifth-round pick in 2023, Mafi played in all 17 games as a rookie, starting five. He was cut in 2024 training camp.

43) DL Marcus Harris (Bills) - Was on the Patriots practice squad in 2024.
