29 Goals, 22 Assists: Man United academy star set to leave on a permanent transfer before…

Manchester United are bracing themselves for one of their most dramatic final weeks of a transfer window in years.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Sam Mather could leave Man United on a permanent transfer before the deadline.

The 20-year-old forward has caught the eye of suitors in Germany, Sweden, and Turkey, making an overseas switch highly likely.

United believe this could be the right time for Mather to step beyond academy football, having outgrown the Under-21s.

If a permanent transfer is not arranged in time, Mather could leave on a loan deal with an obligation to buy included.

The young forward signed a new three-year contract in 2024 and has already been part of a few first-team training sessions.

Mather has featured over 60 times for United youth teams, netting 29 goals and registering 22 assists.

He has previously secured loan spells at Rochdale and Tranmere.

While he has mainly operated as a left winger, Mather believes his role lies in the number 10 position.

United may prefer to sell him permanently to record pure profits in their books.

Alongside Mather, fellow prospects Harry Amass, Rhys Bennett, Ethan Williams, Ethan Ennis, and Gabriele Biancheri are all tipped for loan exits in the coming days.

The Red Devils will also be occupied with arranging the exits of the infamous ‘bomb squad’.

The likes of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho continue to drain the wage bill while their futures hang in the balance.

Rasmus Hojlund is also likely to seal a loan move to Napoli, with the Italian club ready to commit to a permanent deal if certain conditions are triggered.
