NFL Makes Massive Decision on Tom Brady's Involvement With Raiders

When Tom Brady became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, he was approved to do so with some strict rules in place. Considering the former quarterback now has a job as an analyst, it was believed he might be biased in his coverage for the team, and potentially report to the team on their opponents.

Due to these concerns, Brady was not allowed to attend production meetings or practices for the Raiders. Now, the NFL has rolled back one of those rules in a major way.

"The NFL will allow Tom Brady — FOX's lead analyst and a minority owner of the #Raiders— to take part in production meetings with coaches and teams this season, per @AndrewMarchand. Brady was banned from doing so last year (aside from the Super Bowl). He's still not expected to be allowed at team practices."

According to Ari Meirov, by way of The Athletic, Brady will be allowed to take part in production meetings with coaches and teams this season with the Raiders.

Marchand writes, "The NFL will allow Tom Brady, Fox Sports' top TV game analyst and Las Vegas Raiders minority owner, to take part in production meetings with coaches and teams this season, sources briefed on the decision told The Athletic.

In Brady's rookie broadcasting year, he was banned from these information-gathering sessions for nearly the whole season. The rules were in place due to his ownership stake. The NFL relented for the Super Bowl."

Brady will still not be allowed to attend practices, but he can be far more involved with the bigger picture stuff with coaches and executives in the Raiders organization.

It would be believed that Brady might also see his practice ban lifted next season, though that is just speculation. For now, the arguably greatest football player of all time can assume a much more involved ownership role with the Raiders.
