From Denmark: Manchester United plans for Chido Obi-Martin explained

Manchester United have had a typically rollercoaster start to the season, with a loss against Arsenal on the opening day met with optimism by many after Ruben Amorim’s side put in a good performance.

Then the draw against Fulham felt like it was back to the dark days of last season, and that disappointment was quickly followed by the news Manchester United are open to selling Kobbie Mainoo and the midfielder would consider a move.

Subsequently, and perhaps understandably, the fanbase has imploded ahead of Wednesday night’s match against Grimsby Town. Anything less than a convincing win against the EFL League Two side will likely register on the Richter scale.

An avalanche of goals would be welcomed, and Chido Obi-Martin may get a chance to be involved in that. It’s precisely the type of match in which it would be fitting to give the 17-year-old some minutes.

Denmark’s [Tipsbladet](https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/premier-league/her-er-manchester-uniteds-plan-med-chido-obi-2) have published an article explaining what they’ve been told is Manchester United’s plan for the youngster.

Lars Knudsen, Denmark’s U21 manager, had wanted Obi-Martin to be loaned out this season, however, he isn’t going to get his way.

Tipsbladet report they’ve been told Manchester United have absolutely no plans to loan the youngster.

They caveat that by saying the transfer window can be unpredictable, before adding: _‘It is impossible to imagine anything coming up that could change the plan they have for Chido Obi-Martin, which is to spend the season at the club.’_
