Wolves expected to make opening bid for striker – €25m the asking price, agreement expected

Wolverhampton Wanderers are targeting Racing Genk striker Tolu Arokodare and are preparing a bid for him.

That’s [according to Het Laatste Nieuws](https://www.hln.be/racing-genk/tolu-op-weg-naar-de-uitgang-wolverhampton-wil-topschutter-van-racing-genk~a5f2b373/), who report that Wolves know it will cost €25m to get the Nigerian striker.

The newspaper explains Arokodare has been waiting all summer for a big move to come his way, having been linked with several clubs in England, Germany and Italy in this transfer window.

Several options have passed him by, but the game is now on, and it is Wolves who are howling at the door. According to HLN’s information, they intend to make an opening bid for him.

Indeed, such is the situation, that the Belgian side may avoid using their striker in a second leg clash against Lech Poznan tomorrow. He was supposed to start that game, but they want to avoid taking any risks.

Genk have put a €25m asking price on Arokodare and are targeting that figure, although it can include bonuses. HLN say it is likely that Wolves will find an agreement with them.

The determination for Genk is to better the figures they got for Paul Onuachu, who cost Southampton €18m in January 2023.
