Jamie O’Hara has leapt to the defence of Leeds manager Daniel Farke.

The 49ers considered sacking Farke after the Whites were promoted to the Premier League, but the German held on to his position.

The Leeds boss stayed after a change of heart from Paraag Marathe, but is under pressure again after the penalty shootout loss to Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.

That was the Peacocks’ second defeat in the space of four days, but there is no need for Elland Road to be at panic stations yet, according to the ex-Tottenham star.

Leeds fan calls for Daniel Farke sack live on air

Leeds earned plaudits from Mikel Arteta despite a 5-0 loss to Arsenal on Saturday, but it may be difficult for Farke to hold on to his job until the end of the campaign if he cannot get results.

A Whites supporter named Dan called into talkSPORT on 26 August (22:19) after the disappointing loss, venting his frustration and calling for Farke to be dismissed.

He said: “His decision-making, the fact that he keeps on sticking with the likes of Ilia Gruev, Jack Harrison, Brendan Aaronson, sending Largie Ramazani on loan, which absolutely baffles me.

“I don’t think this has helped him at all, I really don’t, and I don’t think he is helping himself.

“I seriously think if it’s a bad result on Saturday.”

However, O’Hara was having none of that and cut him off, saying: “You’re not going to sack him, mate, you’re not going to sack him.

“There was this whole hoo-hah in the offseason, about Daniel Farke getting sacked, and they made the decision not to.

“They’re not going to sack him four games in.”

Jamie O’Hara is right, any sack talk at Leeds is ridiculous

Any idea that the German should be sacked is utterly ridiculous at this stage.

His previous spell with Norwich cannot be used against him, as he was not backed properly by the owners at Carrow Road.

That is not the case in LS11, the American ownership have given him significant reinforcements, with one or two more needed to complete the squad, with the likes of Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson already impressing.

They have not started the league campaign badly by any means, an opening weekend win over Everton and a loss to title challengers Arsenal, that is par for the course.

As for the claim that he keeps using the likes of Gruev, Harrison, and Aaronson, that trio have featured for a combined 161 minutes during the first two league games, so not much at all.

The caller’s stance on Ramazani is also baffling, as he is not good enough to be a top-flight winger, having notched just six goals and two assists in 29 Championship matches last time out, with promotion already wrapped up when he scored two against Bristol City.

Ultimately, that supporter got carried away with his frustration after a poor loss; there should be no sack talk right now.
