£21.5m striker agrees personal terms with Wolves amid Strand Larsen uncertainty, bid incoming - …

It could be all change at Wolves in the coming days, with Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future up in the air.

Newcastle have seen two bids for Strand Larsen rejected so far, with Wolves digging their heels in.

But the Magpies are expected to come back to the table with another offer, and fans are nervously awaiting the outcome of the situation.

Wolves do not want to lose Strand Larsen, and last night he reminded everyone how important he is with two great goals in the Carabao Cup game against West Ham United.

But money talks, and Vitor Pereira failed to rule out an exit for Strand Larsen.

With all that going on, it has now been claimed that Wolves are preparing to make a bid for a new striker who hasn’t previously been linked.

It has been reported by Belgian publication HLN that Wolves are now preparing to make a bid for Genk striker Tolu Arokodare.

Arokodare has been with the club since 2023, and last term he enjoyed a fine campaign, plundering 23 goals across all competitions. He also chipped in with seven assists.

Five of those 23 goals he hit last term were headers, which perhaps comes as no surprise considering he stands at an intimidating 6ft 6in tall.

Interestingly, HLN say that it is ‘likely’ that both clubs will come to an agreement over Arokodare. Genk are looking for around £21.5 million.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that personal terms have already been agreed with the player – it’s now up to the clubs.

Arokodare could be Strand Larsen’s replacement

Given his profile, Arokodare feels like a potential Strand Larsen replacement.

There are still suggestions that Wolves want to keep the Norwegian. But with Newcastle determined to sign him, Wanderers would probably be foolish not to make plans for a replacement just in case.

And Arokodare looks like he could be a decent one.

A 23-goal haul last season is impressive going, and there also clearly some creativity there with seven assists to boot.

Pereira has made a habit of signing taller, more physical players during his time as Wolves manager and that trend look like it may be set to continue.
