Nottingham Forest are busy trying to finalise their squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
Nuno Espirito Santo is holding talks with Evangelos Marinakis and Edu this week after a positive start has been threatened by his possible departure.
Espirito Santo fell out with Edu over a failed move for Adama Traore and ultimately, things need to change if Espirito Santo is to remain in charge.
The summer business has been good, however, and with four points from a possible six so far this season, it would be far from ideal if Espirito Santo ended up departing.
It would appear as though the immediate priority for the football club is getting players in, however, and now some developments have come to light over a new full-back.

Nottingham Forest now in talks with Leipzig over Lursharel Geertruida
According to Fabrizio Romano, talks are now underway between Forest and Leipzig over a deal for Geertruida.
The right-back is on the list of players wanted by Forest before the window closes on Monday and the hope will be that something can get done.
Geertruida is yet to play this season for Leipzig despite being a regular in the team during 2024/25 when he made 35 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

Geertruida would be a quality addition for Forest
The Bundesliga official website compared Geertruida to Sergio Ramos previously and that makes him a very exciting proposition indeed.
The player is 25 and wouldn’t be as raw as some of the other links that have been mentioned with a move to the City Ground this summer.
Geertruida would provide very capable backup for Ola Aina and he’d be more than capable of coming into the team to give the Nigeria international a rest when he needs one.
The 17-time Holland international feels like a very capable player and having played in the Bundesliga, it feels as though George Syrianos is perhaps the driving force behind this deal.
