Cam Ward Names 2 NFL Defenders He’s Excited To Face

It’s a new era for the Tennessee Titans.

Quarterback Cam Ward is ready to take the reins, and while it won’t be easy, he has the physical tools to be a force once the game slows down for him.

He’s going to face some of the best defensive players in the game this season, but he’s not going to run from the challenge and instead will embrace it.

The No. 1 overall pick from the 2025 NFL Draft revealed the two defensive players he’s looking forward to facing the most.

“I would easily have to say, Maxx Crosby and Chris Jones. Those two are the best football players in the world. Probably some of the greatest of all time,” Ward said.

Ward will be granted his wish in Weeks 6 and 16 when his team faces the Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.

He admitted that the Titans’ offense wasn’t as sharp as he’d like earlier in the preseason, but they have a stout offensive line and some veteran playmakers with reliable hands.

It’ll be interesting to see how Ward deals with the pressure that comes with being the No. 1 pick, especially given how much the Titans have struggled in recent years.

Going against the likes of Crosby and Jones will be difficult, but holding his ground against those elite players will help him earn his stripes in the league.
