Ex-Bucks G Malik Beasley could still face disciplinary action from NBA, per insider

It was reported over the weekend that former Milwaukee Bucks sharpshooter Malik Beasley was cleared in a federal investigation.

While Beasley lost a ton of money from the Detroit Pistons in what was expected to be a decent deal for the elite shooter, it's a positive sign that everything is behind him. Beasley is one of the better 3-point shooters in the NBA, but the situation kept teams away.

Despite the federal gambling investigation being finalized, it was reported by Alex Schiffer of Front Office Sports that Beasley could still face discipline from the NBA.

Malik Beasley still could be discipline by the NBA

"Even if he did sign somewhere, Beasley could still be the subject of NBA discipline," [Schiffer reported](https://frontofficesports.com/malik-beasley-nba-betting-investigation/). "The Eastern District’s investigation is still ongoing and the NBA is investigating Beasley for possible violations of its own rules, which aren’t contingent on the federal investigation."

Uncertainty still surrounds what type of investigation the NBA is conducting, but if they determine Beasley did something wrong, he could find himself in a difficult spot.

At the same time, there’s a chance Beasley won’t face any punishment from the league, especially if it’s shown that he had no involvement in gambling or anything similar.

As Beasley looks to get ahead of his free agency now, there are expected to be multiple teams interested in acquiring him.

He could be used as a veteran minimum option this late in the offseason, and he'd be a steal of a price.

Even if he's a bench piece at this stage because of teams likely having the rosters finalized, Beasley is one of the best at what he does.
