Tottenham have been linked with a summer move for Yoane Wissa at Brentford.

Wissa looks set to leave Brentford, with Spurs showing an interest after a turbulent window under Keith Andrews at the Gtech Community Stadium.

This came, in part, due to Thomas Frank’s appointment at Tottenham after seven years with the Bees, alongside Bryan Mbeumo’s move to Manchester United.

To this point, despite Wissa being linked to Newcastle United, he hasn’t been allowed to leave West London, but has refused to play as a result.

With that being said, it now appears that an agreement has already been reached at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which doesn’t look good for any move for Wissa.

Yoane Wissa agreement part of Thomas Frank appointment

There is no hiding away from the need for attacking reinforcements in N17, especially after Tottenham missed out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal.

That could see a move for Wissa make total sense, especially with the prior relationship that exists with Frank in North London.

This comes off the back of a superb season in red and white stripes, where the DR Congo international contributed to 24 goals in all competitions.

As it stands, the Bees are keen to keep hold of the 28-year-old and may not have a concern over a move to Spurs due to a prior agreement.

Former Brentford manager Allen believes an agreement will already be in place to stop Frank from bringing Brentford stars to Spurs this summer, scuppering a swoop for Wissa.

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Allen said: “I’m unsure whether Thomas Frank could go and take a player from Brentford.

“I don’t think he’ll be allowed to touch their players; that’ll be part of the agreement for his move to Tottenham.

“*He would like to have Wissa at Tottenham because he does score goals; any player like that would be crucial for Tottenham.*“

Tottenham must now focus on other attacking signings

There is frustration brewing in N17 as the Lilywhites continue to fail in their attempts to sign a new attacker after James Maddison’s pre-season injury.

Eze has already gone elsewhere, and now a move for Wissa looks to be impossible for Spurs to complete in the final days of the window.

The Congo star would have been a useful addition with his goal-scoring exploits last campaign, but a move across the capital is seemingly off the table.

This could come as a further blow to Frank and his relationship with Daniel Levy, as he needs forward additions moving deeper into his maiden campaign as Spurs boss.
