It’s been an eventful NBA offseason for Malik Beasley, but one he’d rather forget as soon as possible.
Beasley was being investigated by federal authorities for gambling accusations, but that investigation recently ended, and he won’t be charged with any crime.
Right away, teams picked up the phone and started inquiring about Beasley now that he is out from under that black cloud.
Michael Scotto said that the Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, and Cleveland Cavaliers have all “touched base” about Beasley.
It sounds like Beasley is about to start a new chapter, but it’s not clear where he will land.

He was a miracle for the Pistons last season, averaging 16.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 43.0 percent from the field.
Beasley was in the running for Sixth Man of the Year and instantly became one of the hottest commodities in free agency.
But the suspicions around him and the threatening federal investigation brought everything to a screeching halt.
For a moment, it appeared as if Beasley’s career could be over.
But now that it’s behind him, he can get back to work in the league.
There were concerns that teams wouldn’t have space for him.
While he was being investigated, many franchises made their big offseason moves, and Beasley’s options became limited.
Thankfully for him, there are still a few prime choices.
The Pistons would love to have him back, but they will have competition.
After the season he just had, Beasley feels he is worth a lot and will want a contract that respects that.
He is one of the last free agency targets without a home, so the interest around Beasley is growing.
