Here’s how fan-favorite Tommy DeVito felt about being cut by Giants

The Giants are saying goodbye to Tommy DeVito.

The fan-favorite backup quarterback from Cedar Grove was a victim of Tuesday’s cuts, which whittled the roster to 53 players.

According to the New York Post’s Steve Serby, DeVito called his agent, Sean Stellato, after getting the news.

“He said there was a lot of emotions flying, which I think really surprised him, too,” Stellato told The Post.

“He’s a folk hero here, he’s inspired so many people. … We understand the business side of it."

DeVito has made 12 appearances (eight starts) for the Giants since signing as an undrafted free agent out of Syracuse in 2023. He’s 3-5 as a starter and has thrown for 1,358 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

“Definitely hurt the heart,” Stellato said. “This game teaches you perseverance.

“He’s obviously disappointed. He loved his opportunity to play for his favorite team.“
