Newcastle United have started the Premier League season very impressively, yet have failed to win their opening two games.
Eddie Howe’s side have been plagued by their striker situation, with Alexander Isak refusing to play amid his desire to join Liverpool.
Isak is set to play for Sweden next month, but it remains to be seen whether he will still be a Newcastle United player when the summer transfer window closes.
That will depend on what incoming business the Magpies can do, as they push to sign a striker. For Isak to go, they will need to buy two, which will be incredibly difficult between now and 1st September.
But if they can actually get three strikers, Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony believes that Newcastle United could challenge for the title this season.

Newcastle United told to sign three strikers before deadline day
Newcastle United have built an impressive squad, and the hope is that it will get even better before the summer transfer window closes.
MacAnthony has named three more players who the Magpies should sign this summer during an appearance on Sky Sports News, admitting that their arrivals could result in Howe’s side launching a title bid.
“If they finish the window with Wissa, Strand Larsen and they got Nicolas Jackson – if they get those three players in by the end of the window, Newcastle could have a title challenge this year,” he said.

Simply no way Newcastle United complete triple striker signing
There is simply no way that Newcastle United would even consider signing all three of the players mentioned by MacAnthony. It just would not make sense.
Howe would suddenly have three players competing for one position in the starting XI, which just is not feasible. It is difficult to envision a world where Newcastle would be able to pull that off, as even the players themselves would be worried about their minutes.
The perfect situation is that Newcastle sign two strikers, one of which is good enough to replace Isak. That would open the door for him to join Liverpool and get a toxic presence out of St James’ Park.
In truth, the most likely outcome is that just one striker arrives. Jorgen Strand Larsen is Newcastle’s top target at the minute, with two bids rejected by Wolves.
Yoane Wissa had been expected to join, but that deal has stalled due to Brentford’s inability to bring in a replacement. Elsewhere, Newcastle have reservations about Jackson.
