Everton will surely fancy their chances of completing a move to sign Tomas Soucek before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The Toffees christened the Hill Dickinson Stadium with a win last weekend, with new signing Jack Grealish making a significant impact in the victory over Brighton.

Everton are now eyeing up a move for Soucek, as they try to add the finishing touches to their squad at the end of what has been a busy summer of business.

David Moyes will be keen to welcome a few more new faces into his ranks in the coming days, and his influence could be decisive in more ways than one.

Tomas Soucek to be interested in move after Everton bid

Everton recently saw a bid for Soucek rejected, as they finally acted on their long-standing interest in the Czechia international.

The Merseysiders showed an interest in the midfielder right at the start of the summer, and could now be about to push hard to secure his signature ahead of the imminent deadline.

Moyes was the man who first brought the 30-year-old to the Premier League during his stint with West Ham back in 2020, and he could be about to have a huge effect on where his future will lie.

Ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes that the former Slavia Prague man would be hugely keen to rejoin Moyes if the opportunity presents itself.

“I would imagine that the offer wouldn’t have been that high, because Soucek is not a young player anymore,” King said.

“From what I’ve heard at West Ham, the atmosphere there is not good. I think Soucek would be interested in a move without a doubt.

“Moyes brought him from the Czech Republic and made a player of him really. I think Soucek would jump at the chance to get another opportunity to work with him.”

The Toffees need to up their offer for Tomas Soucek

It should be a no-brainer for Everton to up their offer for Soucek ahead of Monday’s deadline.

The Toffees could offer him a simple way out of the troubles that are growing by the day at the London Stadium, and provide the opportunity to link up with a boss who got the best out of him previously.

Moyes could certainly use more depth in the midfield, and a move for Soucek would provide a reliable and hard-working option, whom he already has a strong level of trust towards.

He arguably stands as one of the Scot’s best ever signings from throughout his career, and he would surely have a similar level of success at Bramley Moore.
