Sam Greenwood has been sold to Polish side Pogon Szczecin for around £3.5million.

Greenwood, signed from Arsenal in 2020 when he was just 18, enjoyed many promising moments for Leeds.

However, it always looked likely that he would be sold as Leeds targeted big-name strikers in the transfer window.

It looked for a while that Greenwood would sign for Sunderland. However, Pogon have won the battle to sign the 23-year-old.

Here is a round-up of his best moments in a Leeds United shirt.

Greenwood made Premier League debut in ‘Great Escape’ Match

On the final day of the 2021-22 season, Leeds needed to beat Brentford to stand a chance of surviving in the Premier League.

Jesse Marsch chose this game to hand Greenwood his Premier League debut.

It was a surprise to most fans, but Marsch insisted no-one in the Leeds squad would be surprised.

It was a decision that paid off big time. Leeds won the game 2-1 and secured their Premier League survival.

This performance and the post-match celebrations were a great way for Greenwood to endear himself to the Leeds fans.

Greenwood opens his goalscoring account with a peach of a free-kick against Bournemouth

Greenwood regularly featured in the Premier League under Marsch in the following season, although he only scored one goal.

That goal was a screamer of a free-kick though, and it helped his team claim all three points against AFC Bournemouth.

Leeds were 3-1 down, but Greenwood’s free-kick started a memorable comeback, which ultimately saw them win the game 4-3.

Screamers galore for Leeds under-23s

Greenwood will have plenty of fond memories of his time playing for Leeds under-23s.

He scored several memorable goals during this time in his career, including a free-kick against West Brom under-23 that won the Goal of the Season award for that division.

Some Leeds supporters may wish he had had more opportunities to do the same for the first team.

Still, having been loaned out in both of the previous Championship seasons, it seemed unlikely he’d be given the necessary game time in the Premier League.
