Nottingham Forest rival Celtic for Serie A star ahead of transfer deadline - journalist

Nottingham Forest are still looking to finalise their squad ahead of the transfer deadline.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants at least three new players before Monday’s cut-off, with full-backs and a goalkeeper very much the order of the day.

Forest have been linked with Nicolo Savona from Juventus for the right-back spot, whilst Victor Kristiansen is linked with Forest from Leicester for the left-back spot.

The Reds need to get these final deals ironed out, ideally before Sunday’s game against West Ham and the hope will be that something can come to fruition before then.

However, the links continue to emerge from across Europe…

Nottingham Forest rival Celtic for Anass Salah-Eddine

According to Telegraaf journalist Jeroen Kapteijns, Forest are one of the clubs now showing an interest in Roma player Salah-Eddine.

Last season, the left-back spent time with FC Twente on loan, making eight appearances in the Europa League and 18 in their Eredivisie campaign.

Salah-Eddine scored twice and claimed five assists for the Dutch outfit last season and that has led to interest from Forest and Celtic in his services.

The 23-year-old is unlikely to be considered a regular in the team with Roma and it would now appear as though he will move on before the deadline.

Salah-Eddine could run Neco Williams for his place

Being a full-back who likes to get forward, it’s clear that the player could offer Forest something, especially with Europa League football coming to the City Ground this season.

Salah-Eddine would be viewed as a project in the sense that he would come in and act as a backup to Williams and aim to get minutes in the team when the Welshman needed a rest.

Signing a full-back won’t be easy, with both Williams and Ola Aina extremely solid in their positions on either side of the back four.

It will be fascinating to see who Forest end up with this season for the full-back spots on the bench but one way or another, the club needs the players to be added quickly ahead of a panicky deadline.
