Marc Guehi has "said yes" to Liverpool's transfer proposal, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Liverpool have spent big this summer - landing the signatures of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong. The Reds have also been heavily linked with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who is reportedly keen on the move.

However, Guehi, 25, could also join that list. Romano posted on social media: "Understand Liverpool remain in active talks to sign Marc Guehi immediately.

"LFC are ready to pay over £30m now to get the deal done… but it depends on Crystal Palace. If Palace find replacement and let him go, Guehi already said yes to the Reds."

Guehi, who only has one year left on his contract, has also emerged as a shock target for Manchester City.

Daily Star Sunday reported earlier this week that the England defender is being discussed at the Etihad as a potential £35million target, if Pep Guardiola loses Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake from his squad.

Galatasaray want Akanji, 30, while Ake, also 30, is a target for Everton, who have already loaned Jack Grealish from City.

Guardiola wants to trim his squad and wouldn’t be short of options if both Akanji and Ake leave, and the pacy Guehi is seen as having long-term value.

Guardiola left Ilkay Gundogan, also a target for Galatasaray and Akanji out of his squad for their clash with Spurs.

And he said: “I had to leave Rodri and Phil Foden out last week as we have many players.

“I must rotate. The next games it will be others who are left out. It is not more serious than that.”
