West Ham Refuse to Quit on £20m Midfield Target Despite Knockback

West Ham have refused to give up despite receiving a setback in their pursuit of one of their top midfield targets.

Nottingham Forest are reported to have rejected a loan-with-buy-clause offer from West Ham for Ibrahim Sangaré. Forest only want a permanent transfer for the 27-year-old, with a fee likely to recoup most of what they paid PSV.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side are believed to be open to a loan deal if a 100% guaranteed obligation to buy is included. This would cause problems for West Ham in the event of relegation, as it would leave the Hammers needing to pay over £20m regardless. Claret & Hugh have been told by an agent that the Irons will continue to look for a compromise.

Understandably, this has sparked concern that the move may collapse, but Claret & Hugh have been assured there is no issue.
