The New York Knicks made a major change at the beginning of the offseason, deciding to move on from head coach Tom Thibodeau after he led them to an Eastern Conference Finals run.
Despite making that run, the Knicks came up short to the Indiana Pacers one step away from reaching the NBA Finals. Moving on from Thibodeau was a surprise, but the franchise clearly felt that a change was needed.
To replace him, New York went out and hired Mike Brown. Brown, who who has been a head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Sacramento Kings, comes in as the new Knicks' lead man with an overall career record of 454-304.
In recent years, New York has relied heavily on its starting lineup. Thibodeau did not use his bench much. Brown, on the other hand, will have a different philosophy.
With that in mind, the Knicks have already made two key free agency additions. Both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele has been signed. New York could still be in the market to add another player or two.
A new name has surfaced as a potential target for the Knicks. James L. Edwards III of The Athletic has named sharpshooter Seth Curry as a potential option.
"It doesn't hurt to have a surplus of players who can hit 3s, and few are more accurate than Curry," Edwards wrote. "He led the NBA in 3-point percentage last year at 45.6 (only 2.7 attempts per game) and has shot less than 40 percent from 3 only once over his last seven seasons"
Curry would be a very intriguing pickup for New York. He wouldn't break the bank and he could be exactly the kind of bench shooter the team needs.
Last season with the Charlotte Hornets, Curry played in 68 games and made 14 starts. He averaged 6.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game, while shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and knocking down a sizzling 45.6 percent of his three-point attempts.

Elite three-point shooters are a necessity in the NBA. It doesn't get much better than Curry.
This would be a very wise move late in free agency. Curry wouldn't be asked to play a huge role, but when shooting is needed, the Knicks would have someone to turn to.
