Why is the draw split?
The draw for the third round takes on a slightly different format this time around, with the Premier League's European representatives due to enter the competition.
The third round of the competition overlaps with the Champions League and Europa League, meaning clubs in those competitions will be kept apart.
A pre-draw will thus take place to decide which of the European sides will play at home or away. They will be drawn against eight teams who are not competing in Europe, before the other eight ties will be drawn in the normal fashion.
Got it? Good.
