£30M Aston Villa move could open door for Leeds United transfer

Leeds United have not had the best of weeks after two losses in the space of four days. Now the club can look forward to adding a few more players before they take on Newcastle United this weekend.

Bad news for the Whites is that they will be without both Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka up until the international break. The duo have been sidelined with MCL injuries. Daniel Farke said that the club will not be bringing in midfielders or defenders before the close of the window.

“We will see. We definitely want to do a bit more, I think it’s fair to say our attack wasn’t at the top level today, which we were aware of. I’m happy with the signing of James Justin. I think our defensive and midfield positions are all sorted but it’s no secret we would like to add some quality to our attack.”

Many have interpreted Farke’s words that there will be no attacking midfielder signed, but quite the contrary. When he was speaking on the signing on Noah Okafor he mentioned wingers who could play as number 10s.

Aston Villa have been linked with Dortmund striker Maximilian Beier. Unai Emery’s side will reportedly make a first bid of around £30million for the German. But due to their financial position, they will be forced to sell some players first.

This may include Emiliano Buendia. There have been reports that the Argentine is considering his future. Villa are open to him staying, but if they do need to make space for a new signing, he could be one of the first names out of the door. Leeds are still monitoring a potential move for him as the transfer deadline grows closer.

Buendia could bring that creative spark to Leeds

The attacking midfielder is still a quality player. And having worked with Daniel Farke, the Leeds boss will know how to get the best of him. The Whites need someone like the Argentine to pick up the ball in central areas and create magic. Leeds’ current core of midfielders lack that attribute. If the club can get this deal over the deal, it would be a huge boost.
