Cole Strange is reportedly heading to the Cleveland Browns practice squad, but could have a road to the main roster.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns are signing the former New England Patriots first-round pick to their practice squad “with the idea of being elevated to their active roster.”

The move is the latest step in a precipitous fall for Strange. Just three years removed from being a first-round pick out of Chattanooga, Strange was waived by the Patriots at the roster cut deadline and went unclaimed on waivers.

The 27-year-old offensive lineman will now try to build himself back up on a new team. With a new team, Strange will have the benefit of a change of scenery.
